Our client is a specialist Mezzanine Private Equity investment business working closely with small to mid cap businesses on a cross border (mainly European basis). They currently have over E500 million under investment and are looking to double the investments over the next two years. Investments can vary from £3 to 120 million and tend to move very quickly from inception to delivery to exit.
They work on a Cross industry basis but have a tendency towards high tech industries currently (mainly because these are the main people looking for investment but also because these have the highest and fastest profit margins) but you could be working on anything from Telcos to Financial Services.
The pitch and delivery of this client is very unique to the market and due to this you will be expected to be a versatile and quick thinking individual who does not want to work in the 'traditional' format. Also because of the backers (large investment banks and high net worth individuals) and the autonomy of the role and company, they can be far more intuitive and faster to market than a lot of their competition, so you must be too, this is not a role for a 'plodder'.
The role
You will be involved in the full delivery and execution process including pulling the teams together, organising and reviewing the models and the due diligence. You will have a proven track record in deal execution and be able to pick things up quickly. You will be involved in putting together Term Sheets and pitch books as well as dealing with high level individuals and closing the deals. It is a full end to end process including managing analysts and associates in the deal process.
You will be expected to make decisions which will impact heavily the profit of the company as a whole. You will be expected to be able to structure term-sheets and presentations and handle the full execution and delivery process because of the business model they operate they also insist that people add value to the businesses they invest in, so a background in advisory services, consulting or an MBA is a bonus
You
You will be already in a credit or structured finance role (or Ideally mezzanine investments) with contacts in Italy and a proven track record in closing and executing deals and be fluent in Italian, this could be in a large investment house where you want to expand the remit of your role or in a small boutique. You will ideally be an MBA graduate with a passion for helping clients make the right decisions.
