POSITION PURPOSE
CVI is a significant investment advisor in distressed asset markets. The distressed consumer loans business is a major and rapidly growing part of CVI and is seeking to expand its analytical team throughout Europe.
The role will manage a small team providing a) advanced mathematical analysis for the purpose of pricing and analysing collection strategies for distressed consumer loan portfolio opportunities and b) competitor and supplier analysis throughout Europe.


PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

70% - Lead the following processes (including hands on analysis and supervision of two Quantitative Analysts):
a) Pricing analysis and recommendations for specific portfolio purchase opportunities
b) Performance analysis of bought portfolios, asset manager partners
c) Analysis of collection patterns and provision of guidance to our partners to improve total net collections across our consumer books
d) Competitive analysis of other debt buyers and potential sellers

15% - Through market knowledge and contacts and internal Carval co-ordination, ensure that Carval remains a market leader in the field of analysis of distressed consumer loans. Make substantial contribution to Carval's commercial position in the industry through innovation in the areas of pricing and collection. Select products and manage outside data vendor relationships relevant to the consumer debt analysis.

15% - Lead the transfer of collection knowledge with and amongst Carval's partners

Skills

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
  • Degree in quantitative subject with significant exposure to advanced mathematical or statistical methods
  • Relevant work experience
  • Demonstrated strong team player with supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced Excel skills, ability to work in other database systems
  • Goal orientated self starter, able to act independently and work to tight deadlines
  • Strong commercial orientation, ability to identify key commercial factors
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to apply statistical methods to commercial situations
  • One or more European languages
  • Experience of analysis and processing of large quantities of data
