Business Analyst

This is an outstanding opportunity to join the Client Service development team within a company that is the market leader in alternative investments. This challenging opportunity will see you join a large team delivering a diverse set of applications across multiple continents. The applications within the client service envelope are focused on the needs and demands of the sales and client administration teams within Man Group.

Business analyst

  • Provide a BA function for the Delivery Manager and Senior Business Analyst focusing on strategy, business use of systems, and analysis of business requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for optimisation of business processes and more effective use of systems.
  • Challenge existing business process and requirements. Seek, evaluate and champion alternative, more cost effective, 80:20 solutions.
  • Review business strategy in relation to current and future business requirements.
  • Manage user expectations with regards to system enhancements
  • Detail project vision, scope and business cases in the form of both formal and informal proposals.
  • Communicate business requirements to developers and testers. Work closely with project team throughout the development and testing cycle to refine/clarify requirements as necessary.
  • Liaise with diverse business colleagues ranging from senior management to users ensuring system enhancements meet the business goals and expectations
  • Identify and propose solutions to the business requirements

Requirements

We are looking for high calibre individuals that can demonstrate the commitment and drive to enable them to deliver quality and innovative solutions that provide real business value. They must be competent and confident enough to work in a large team of highly skilled individuals. The successful candidate will display a passion for business analysis and be pro-active and energetic in their work.

  • Experience as a business analyst in a technology team working in the financial services arena, preferably hedge funds or asset management
  • Performed business analysis across a diverse range of projects and systems in the financial services arena
  • Excellent analysis and interpretation skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Confident facilitating workshops to elicit requirements from a diverse set of users
  • Ability to problem solve and has a high degree of initiative
  • Excellent skills in building and maintaining relationships with internal and external parties
  • Degree in a relevant technical subject (e.g. Computer Science, Mathematics, Finance)
  • Experience of formal methodologies to capture requirements: User Stories, Use Cases, UML, Business process modelling
  • Familiar with and comfortable working to Agile development methodologies
  • Has the ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills
  • Able to effectively prioritise tasks and manage own workload
