Responsibilities

Provide day to day legal and compliance support to the sales, business development, operations and other functional teams in Spain and Portugal
Driving business compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in each of these countries
Acting as business liaison with local regulatory authorities and keep the business informed of regulatory changes
Providing pro active support to the commercial teams in these countries by drafting and reviewing partnership agreements, insurance contracts and documentation
Supporting the regional and Lead Lawyer as well as the Country Managers on Government Relations activities within each of these countries
Support Facilities and Sourcing teams in negotiations with suppliers
Deal with information & technology and intellectual property matters
Working with the European Corporate Team esnuring the local branches company secretarial and registrations are updated

Edcuation and Experience

Law degree and have some post qualification experience in a Law firm or as an in-house lawyer within the insurance or financial services sector in either Spain or Portugal
Working knowledge of Spanish and/or Portuguese laws and European consumer and insurance regulations in the mentioned countries, in particular, insurance mediation laws
Experience in working with insurance intermediaries such as Banks, Brokers and Agents
Experience in dealing with regulators, trade associations and other government bodies in the insurance or financial services sector
Excellent written and oral English
International work experience would be advantageous
