Seeking a Consulting System Engineer to provide guidance and assist account teams in building solutions to address specific customer needs

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide specific solution/technology/product consulting, technical and sales support for major account opportunities.
  2. Understand business requirements for customer base and be able to translate them into technical requirements.
  3. Understand and Articulate Cisco's Technology, Architectures and Services.
  4. Facilitate better communications and understanding of customer requirements between customers, corporate and the field.
  5. Create, present and document technical solutions.
  6. Perform in-depth and high-level technical presentations for customers, partners and prospects.
  7. Drive identified major account opportunities (i.e. technical consulting, upper level management presentations, and Cisco technology solutions) while allowing local account team to maintain long-term ownership.
  8. Provide consultative support and mentor other less experienced Systems Engineers in assigned major account opportunities.
  9. Major account focus will require increased travel responsibilities.
  10. Actively participate as a specialist on assigned Virtual Team.

Skills and Experience:

  1. 10+ years of related technical experience: TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL, MAPI, CIFS, SIP, etc…
  2. Strong technical skills in application deployment in Data Centers and over WANs.
  3. Cisco product experience and specific solution/ technology/ product positioning required or product experience in key competitor offerings.
  4. Pre-Sales experience required.
  5. Typically requires BS/BA (EE/CS) or equivalent.
  6. CCIE certification highly desirable.
  7. Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, negotiation and presentation skills.
  8. Ability to work effectively, add value as a team member and assume a leadership role for the team.
  9. Demonstrated technical knowledge and consultative skills.
  10. Technical knowledge and consultative skills, which are above reproach.
  11. Ability to understand complex technical and selling situations and the ability to solve the problem or solicit the required resources.
  12. In-depth industry knowledge in the appropriate market segment(s).
  13. Knowledge of relevant solutions sets, product line specifications, performance criteria and applications.
  14. Competitive knowledge (in their area of specialization) including solution, technology and product offerings.
